309 Signal Squadron (Infantry Brigade) (TA)

Aspinall Street, Prescot

This squadron was formed from 87 AGRA (Field) Signal Squadron (TA) and supported 127 Brigade which was based at Belle Vue, Manchester. The Drill Hall is now used as Prescot Civic Centre.

From 1961 it came under administrative control of 42nd (Lancashire) Signal Regiment (TA) and was disbanded in 1967.

42 Signal Squadron is still recruiting spare-time soldiers to train on Tuesday evenings,  weekends, plus a 2-week exercise each year, often abroad. 
Applicants should be medically and physically fit, and aged 17 - 32 (can be older with previous military experience).
