Uniform - 1930The following scale of clothing was issued to members of 42nd (East Lancashire) Divisional Signals (TA) in 1930:
Regulation Boots were required for Annual Camp. These were supplied as personal property at 15 shillings per pair from the Quartermaster’s Stores. An allowance for boots purchased from the Quartermaster’s Stores of 4 shillings was paid to men attending Camp for 15 days and 2 shillings and Sixpence for those attending camp for 8 days. If it was not desired to purchase the boots, they had to be returned immediately after return from Camp. All boots not returned within 14 days were considered as sold and the value deducted from Bounties. Men who have purchased boots would continue to receive boot allowance for subsequent camps provided the boots were produced in serviceable condition. In addition to the above scale of clothing, each man had to take the following to Annual Camp:
