The silver-coloured button is Special Air Service Regiment. The gold-coloured button is a British Army Field Marshal's gilt full-dress button. The design is made separately and mounted onto the dome of the button. The shape of the crown (Queen Elizabeth) indicates post-1952. Field Marshal is the highest rank in the British Army - equivalent rank to an American 5-star General.
